Protecting Our Packages During Shipping

About a year ago, we realized that we had a lot of customer complaints tied to our shipping procedures. We had people tell us that their products were damaged upon arrival and that we needed to work on handling items more carefully. To figure out what was going on, I spent a few days evaluating our shipping procedures. I found several deficiencies, which I addressed right away. I want other business owners to understand the importance of careful shipping, which is why I made this website. How To Increase Operational Efficiency In Your Business With Packaging Design

For many business owners, making a profit off marketing an advertising expenses can be challenging. When you get back returns on your expenses, like those for packaging, you are increasing your company's operational efficiency. Find out how you can improve operational efficiency in your business by way of unique, trending packaging solutions.

Making A Plan For Your Marketing And Packaging

When you take the time to consider how you can use your product's packaging in a marketing scheme, you may think of many kinds of unique ways to use it. For example, if your business has been around for awhile and you are trying to think of new packaging ideas, consider using the history of your company as its foundation. If a product boasts its history on its packaging, you may be surprised how many consumers will associate that with a trustworthy, quality product, especially if you have been in business for a long time. Combining these packaging ideas with your company's history can make a huge impact on how your product catches the eye of consumers:

  • Being Old-Fashioned In A Modern World: If your products can look good in an old-fashioned packaging, you might consider using it. For example, if you manufacture candles, packing them to resemble a manner that was used years ago would be a great way to catch the eyes of your potential customers. Brown wax paper bags with hemp ties can be the perfect way to package candles for adding a nostalgic touch. Adding labels with old style fonts for increasing the antique appearance of your bags is a good idea as well.

  • Unusual Shaped Packaging Can Attract Attention: Packaging your products in a box or other material that does not conform to its shape can be a cool way to impress your customers. An example of unusual packaging would be using a hexagon shaped box for a circular shaped product. When considering unusual shaped packaging, remember to think of packaging that does not give away its content by it shape. For example, if you get a box shaped like a violin, you know right away without opening the box it contains a violin. If you get along rectangular box that has that same violin, you can not guess what it is until you open it.

  • Packaging That Your Customers Can Use For Other Purposes: If you use a package that can be used for another purpose after your product is used, you may be surprised to learn how many customers will keep buying your product for that reason. For example, if you sell candy, avoid packaging it in plastic bags and use glass jars with colorful lids. When considering this type of packaging, be sure to use labels that your customers can easily remove or wash off so it will not interfere with their uses for it later on. An example would be a customer making a desk set out of glass candy jars for holding paperclips and tacks. While your label on the jars would be a good way to constantly remind that customer about your product, you should remember that being able to reuse your package is enough when it is reusable in a decorative fashion.

Operational efficiency is easier to maintain when your customers come back to you because of neat, attractive and reusable packaging. The time and money you spend on packaging can help you gain more customers and a greater return on your investment in it. Contact a business, such as the Packaging Center Inc, for more information.
